Start the dishwasher or wash any remaining dishes.
Bag and take out all trash to the outdoor bins — latch them closed.
Strip used towels and leave them in the laundry basket (no need to wash).
Turn off the oven, range, fire pit, and any space heaters.
Set the Nest thermostat to 78°F (summer) or 60°F (winter).
Log out of any streaming accounts on the Google TV.
Close and lock all windows and doors.
Front door re‑locks automatically — just pull it shut.

Sequoia has been our family's place for as long as we can remember — the trip we keep coming back to with the people we love most. We come here to slow down. To take a deeper breath. To trade the noise of everyday life for the sound of wind moving through tall trees.

Standing beneath sequoias that have been quietly growing for two thousand years has a way of putting everything in its right size. The worries get smaller. The good things get clearer. There is something steady and meaningful about being a small part of something so old and so alive — and somehow, in that stillness, nature gives us back to ourselves.

We hope this house gave you a little of that. A long morning with coffee on the porch. A laugh around the firepit. A walk that took longer than it should have because the light through the trees was too pretty to leave. The kind of quiet that follows you home.

Drive safe. Hug the people you came with. And whenever life starts to feel a little too loud — know that the mountain, the trees, and this little house will be right here, waiting for you.
